For generations, ballpark design has followed a set path. Together, we will define a new one.
One that reimagines the concept of a ballpark.
One tailored to our unique culture and environment.
One built for generations to come.

We are listening to voices across Tampa Bay to help us create a true community asset.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Provide a baseball
experience like no other

Fans interact with the game different, interact with each other differently and even think differently. With a growing and energized Tampa Bay Rays fan base and new ways to experience the game, we must look to what’s next.

Imagine a fan experience that started days, weeks or months before the game. What if the ballpark activated the surrounding environment in a meaningful way? Imagine your ticket came with experiences, not just a seat. What if we deconstructed the traditional ballpark programming model?

Build a defining
icon for Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay is unlike any other market. And the Rays are unlike any organization. We’ve created a special culture that is all ours and we have an opportunity to create a destination that amplified our local assets and is a true representation of Tampa Bay’s forward looking charge to the future.

Imagine the best things about Tampa Bay were showcased on the site and in the ballpark. What if the site and ballpark were community assets and cultural connectors? Imagine the ballpark serving as the architectural icon for the region. What if the ballpark exterior took on a decidedly unconventional feel? What if view shed from within the ballpark was instantly recognizable as Tampa Bay?

Create a smart, sustainable ballpark that is also affordable

The days of giant stadia with deep, vast seating section, huge upper decks, one-size-fits-all premium areas and full-service restaurants are coming to a close. To be economically sustainable, we need to imagine a building with a high operational efficiency, from systems management to circulation of people and goods.

Imagine a building with technology that allowed us to make real-time operational decisions. What if the building performed with a high operational efficiency, from systems management to circulation of people and goods through the building? Imagine a ballpark that was the most comfortable and accessible fan environment in all of baseball. What if the ballpark generated its own energy or we grew natural grass indoors?

Look beyond baseball to activate the site year-round

We have an opportunity to define the future and build a destination that enhances life in the bay area and bring us together as a community. It’s time to create a ballpark that is a unique reflection of our unified spirit, and something the community is proud to call home.

Imagine a ballpark that is dynamic year-round, at a variety of scales. What if the internal concourses, field and open spaces were an extension of the public realm year-round? Imagine a ballpark that included amenities designed for public use and supported creative community and business partnerships. What if public art came alive in and around the building?
